Bhakti Yoga is the Topmost Yoga system. In the Bhagavad-gita it is described that there are a number of Yoga systems; bhakti yoga, karma yoga, jnana yoga, and hatha yoga. The word yoga means "to link up", and the idea is that in yoga we link our consciousness to a higher consciousness. The highest consciousness is God consciousness. So bhakti yoga is a practical means of re-uniting with God or re-establishing our relationship with Him. Sri Krsna indicates that this king of knowledge (raja-vidya) is also happily performed. We can easily see that activities in Krsna consciousness are joyfully done. You may have seen devotees dancing and chanting in the streets. So there is chanting and dancing, eating prasadam (food that has been offered to God) and discussing Bhagavad-gita. These are the main processes. There are no stringent rules and regulations that we have to sit so straight for so long or do so many gymnastics, or control our breath, No, the process is very easily and happily done. Everyone wants to dance, to sing, to eat, and to hear the truth. This process is truely susukham- very happy. So my suguestion is that you take this book "Raja-Vidya; The King of Knowledge" and also get a copy of the Bhagavad-gita "As It Is" by Swami Prabhupada, and experience the joys of performing Bhakti Yoga. Everyone can benefit from the knowledge contained in this small book. Author: A.C.
